New Site Redesign!

Shaire Productions: Site Redesign, 083112

Very excited to share the site redesign with you–Shaireproductions.com–utilizing the spiffy WordPress framework. The previous site was Flash-based (since 2008 or so) and since some new tablets and smartphones don’t support it, this format is a necessary evolution. It helps that there’s now plenty of room in the visual galleries. You’ll find that the blog is also integrated (huge plus). In the future, we’ll add a “Freebies” section, in the vein of “Creative Commons”, so please stay tuned for that announcement. . .

Feel free to browse and enjoy your stay! :)

Design: UP Online Game Site and Promo Shirts

Teaser Site for Online Game

Promo Shirts for PUP Game

These fun designs were created for the online game, Unicorn Parade, from San Franciscan company, Ohai. The concept for the teaser site background was inspired by the film “Where the Wild Things Are”, where the color scheme and storm clouds have a slight melancholy atmosphere. The juxtaposition of sadness and happiness reflects the sarcasm of the game and characters. Keep your eyes peeled for the official game launch! :)

Featured: My Timeline/Lifestream on Bebo Homepage

I’m super duper excited about this! My photos and illustrations are featured on the Bebo.com Homepage (US/CA only) with their new Lifestream/ Photo Timeline launch. It’s a cool feature where your photo albums are placed in a visual timeline–very interactive and clickable piece.

My feature will be up for a week. You’ll have to refresh (F5) the page about 10 times, but I’m happy it’s there! My Bebo Profile

A screenshot of my page is included in an article by Kara Swisher (covering tech issues for The Wall Street Journal and Boomtown) about the new innovations between AOL and Bebo here. It’s also featured in Venture Beat, focusing on the lifestream service.

Announcement: Shaire Productions Official Site is Live!

Nearly a year has passed since I’ve started the site design to my personal site: www.shaireproductions.com–a daunting task with a Flash-based 100-page interactive book, Downloads, and Merchandise section. I’ve always heard that the hardest creative project was designing for yourself–your own brand. To condense who you are in one logo, one site, one image was quite a challenge. The site is a constant work-in-progress, but I’m pretty happy with it. I’ve become quite involved in Creative Commons licensing, mostly through my encounters with Flickr. It became important to me to provide a space for free art, art resources and photos. As artists, we’re influenced by one another. Seeing others’ interpretation of what you’ve created is inspiration in itself because you get to peek into another’s creative mind, thereby pushing your own creativity into new arenas. Anyways, check it out!
