Greetings: Red Penguin Cards

The holidays are here! What better way to celebrate than by visiting the Holiday Gifty Art Fair at the Crucible! This is my first event as a vendor, so I’m very excited. Here are a few photos of items I’ll be selling (art prints, greeting cards, magnets, jewelry and ornaments).

My art pal, Stefanie and 70 other vendors will also be on hand to provide you with a wonderful shopping experience. Steampunk machine inventors “Kinetic Steamworks” will be there to welcome jolly old Saint Nick, so hope you can make it!

Artwork: The Shaman (at the Crewest Gallery, Sharpie Show II)

The Shaman

“The Shaman” is inspired by the mystical talents of the old world, mainly those of Mongolia. Elements of mythology and steampunk surround the strong female character, while the minimalist color scheme highlight the abstract faces and swirl textures. It was created with Sharpie markers, colored paper and various pens.

I’m very excited to be a participant in this year’s “Sharpie Show II” at the Crewest Street Art Gallery in Los Angeles, CA :)

Inspiration: Eyvind Earle’s Beautiful Landscapes

Fog Enshrouded

I have long been a fan of Eyvind Earle’s beautiful serigraphs. Whenever Christmas nears, I remember the stylish work of Eyvind, as his holiday cards are quite celebrated. His serigraphs are reminiscent of old Japanese woodblock prints in its composition and use of blue hues. More about him here
