The holidays are here! What better way to celebrate than by visiting the Holiday Gifty Art Fair at the Crucible! This is my first event as a vendor, so I’m very excited. Here are a few photos of items I’ll be selling (art prints, greeting cards, magnets, jewelry and ornaments).
My art pal, Stefanie and 70 other vendors will also be on hand to provide you with a wonderful shopping experience. Steampunk machine inventors “Kinetic Steamworks” will be there to welcome jolly old Saint Nick, so hope you can make it!

The SF Giants Victory Parade was one of the most energetic events in recent San Franciscan history. Held on November 3rd, 2010, the city was at a standstill as the baseball World Series Champions traveled down the streets in signature cable cars under a rain of confetti (orange, black and white of course). Although I couldn’t see much (with the estimated million other folks), the fan fervor was infectious. After the parade, the sea of ticker tape along Montgomery Street became a playground for young and old alike. You could view the full Photo Album on Flickr.

This traditional Javanese Folk Dancer was performing at the Oakland Chinatown Street Fest.
San Francisco’s How Weird Street Faire was a fun outdoor event (much like the Love Parade), encouraging costumed revelry with an electronic twist.
She was waiting offstage to perform at the Cherry Blossom Festival.
Laughing Squid posted a blog last week announcing Herbie Hatman’s (herbiehatman@gmail.com) invitation for the second (annual?) pie fight in downtown San Francisco at March 5, 5:39PM. Why? To celebrate the love of life in pure creamy decadence! BYOP and formal attire were encouraged. A pure cyberspace call-to-action.
I was very curious to check out the event, not knowing what to expect. A crowd of a hundred eagerly jostled together, mostly observing the mounting array of shaving cream and whipped cream pies. Only a handful were formally dressed (wedding dress, suits, etc). As the countdown began, the brave few became obvious as the onlookers (including myself) ran away. The next few moments became a scene of pure havoc as white splotches of cream few through the air with squeals of utter glee. Even as an observer, you became a participant, experiencing the energy and innocence of the moment. With a few dozen pies set up, the food fight only lasted a few minutes. The brick ground became so slippery that some folks skated across the ground. With the flying pies at a standstill, I stepped into the mess, snapping away. . . can’t wait for next year!
